GAP Patient Transport services provide round-the-clock, all-year-round, Specialist Patient Transfer solutions to the NHS, the Private Hospital Sector, and Justice Legal & Penal Services across the UK.

 

Our solutions are tailored to individual client needs, with a choice of Driver and vehicle only or Driver, vehicle, and supporting staff in any of the following combinations: RMN / RLDN and HCA.

Our fleet of Mobility, Low, Medium, and Highly Secure vehicles is equipped to cater for patient transfers to and from a variety of settings, inclusive of but not limited to A&E, inter-hospital transfers, Court appearance support, custody to hospital, and 136 transfers.

We support informal, and those patients who may be detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA).

GAP Patient Transport offers a range of Secure Mental Health Transport solutions for Children, Young Persons, Working Age and Older Adults. We provide a safe and reliable patient centred service to ensure the highest quality results.

Our services include but are not limited to:

Inter-Hospital Transfers for both Informal and Detained Service Users

We provide safe and secure transfers between hospitals for both informal and detained service users. Every journey is risk-assessed to ensure the appropriate level of staffing, security, and clinical oversight, maintaining patient dignity and continuity of care throughout.

Admissions & Discharge

Our team supports timely and coordinated admissions and discharges, ensuring individuals are conveyed safely to or from hospital, community placements, or specialist units. We liaise closely with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth transitions and reduce stress for service users.

Emergency Department Attendance

We offer responsive transport for service users requiring attendance at Emergency Departments, including those under the Mental Health Act. Our staff are trained to manage challenging or distressing situations with empathy, maintaining safety for both patients and healthcare staff.

Section 135 (1&2) -136 Conveyance to POS

GAP Patient Transport provides specialist support for Section 135 and Section 136 Mental Health Act conveyances. Our crews work in partnership with Police and Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to ensure lawful, safe, and respectful transport to designated Places of Safety (PoS).

Court Attendance

We offer reliable, discreet, and secure transport for court appearances involving detained or vulnerable individuals. Our staff are trained in mental health law and communication to ensure journeys are managed professionally, safely, and with full regard for legal and welfare considerations.
